Finding My Passion in Glamour Photography
As a photographer, it can be challenging to find where you truly fit in within your profession. It's not just about the categories you think you should belong to, but rather the passion that draws you into capturing those perfect portraits. For me, it has always been about fashion. Though I may not always show it through my wardrobe, my love for fashion has always been a significant part of who I am.
Growing up, I was captivated by magazines like Essence, Ebony, and Cosmopolitan. The way they made people look so beautiful, no matter where they were or how they were posing, always intrigued me. I found myself drawn to the elegance and artistry behind each shot. It was a beauty that seemed effortless yet meticulously crafted.
In high school, I took a photography class and fell in love with the craft. However, I couldn't afford a camera at the time, so I wasn't able to dive into it as deeply as I wanted. There were many moments when I considered giving up on photography altogether. But in 2019, something reignited my passion, and here we are today.
Glamour Photographer And The Journey
Today, as a glamour photographer, I focus on capturing the elegance and allure of my subjects. I use a Canon 5D Mark IV and a Godox SK400II to create stunning, high-quality images. The new projects involves a blend of contemporary glamour, fashion editorial, and beauty portraits, drawing inspiration from icons like Gordon Parks and Sue Bryce.

Behind the Scenes of My Photoshoots
Creating the perfect glamour shot involves meticulous planning and a keen eye for detail. From wardrobe selection to lighting setup, every element plays a crucial role. I communicate with my clients before the shoot to have an ideas of what they like and what to look for in a shoot. I like to have my clients look and feel their best, and I’m constantly exploring new locations in Norfolk, VA, to find the perfect backdrop for my shoots.
Sharing My Work and Connecting with Clients
Social media has become one of the tools I have used for showcasing my work. Now I'm working towards using it to connect more with clients. I am starting to use Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn to share my latest projects, behind-the-scenes content, and tips for aspiring photographers. Here are a few of my favorite slogans I love to use:
✨Instagram: "Capturing the beauty in every moment. ✨ #GlamourPhotography #FashionEditorial"
✨TikTok: "Step behind the lens and see the magic unfold. 📸 #BTS #PhotographerLife"
✨LinkedIn: "Transforming visions into stunning realities. Let's create something beautiful together.
